Michael Conforto hit two doubles with two runs, Patrick Bailey hit a two-run home run and the second-seeded San Francisco Giants started a three-game home series against the division-leading Arizona Diamondbacks with an 8-5 victory on Friday night

Ace Logan Webb (7-6) finished seven innings strong, helping the Giants to their 11th win of the season.

Looking for a third straight win, Arizona took a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning when Ketel Marte scored on a tie-break and Corbin Carroll’s infield roll gave the Visitors the lead.

But the Giants eliminated Diamondbacks starter Zach Davies (1-4) with a five-run roll in the fifth inning that included a double by JD Davis, Conforto’s second double with two runs and Bailey’s home run, doubling the lead to 8-4

It was Bailey’s fourth circuit of the year.

Webb and relievers Tyler Rogers and Camilo Doval took over from there, with Webb pitching the sixth and seventh innings before leaving. He was charged with four runs (three earned) on five hits in seven innings, with two walks and five strikeouts.

With a deficit of 8: 4, Arizona managed to put the potential equalizer on the plate in the eighth game against Rogers. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. scored a point with an infield, and Alek Thomas doubled with two tries, placing the drivers in second and third places. But Rogers defeated Evan Longoria to hold the three-way lead.

Doval worked a scoreless ninth goal for his 21st goal of the season.

The teams exchanged advances early after Longoria hit his 10th home run in the second inning.

Conforto’s first two-point double was part of a third three-point period that also included an RBI double by Blake Sabol.

A pitching error by Giants catcher Bailey allowed the Diamondbacks to arrive in fourth place at 3-2 and make the big fifth inning for both teams

Conforto finished the game with three hits, two runs and four rbis for the Giants, who had lost three of their four games in an earlier series at Arizona

Bailey, Davis and LaMonte Wade Jr. scored two goals each, while Davis and Joc Pederson scored twice for San Francisco, dominating the Visitors 12-8.

Carroll had a double and a single for the Diamondbacks, who have lost for only the third time in their last eight games
